If you’re a big Adam Sandler fan, you’ve probably noticed how he loves bringing back the same actors in many of his movies.
Names like David Spade, Kevin James, and Steve Buscemi quickly come to mind when thinking about familiar faces in Sandler’s films over the years.
But there’s one actor with an especially memorable line, and that’s Rob Schneider.
You know it – he’s the guy who’s always shouting: “You can do it.”
Yep, the Benchwarmers star has now delivered that famous line in five different Sandler movies, and if you’re up for a little challenge, try to guess which ones before you read further…
Oh, who are we kidding? You’re probably just going to scroll down and check.
For those wondering, the five films where Schneider says this iconic line are The Waterboy, Little Nicky, 50 First Dates, The Longest Yard, and Bedtime Stories.
When asked if he ever gets tired of hearing it, Schneider compared it to enjoying a great cup of coffee.
In an interview with Mai FM Morning Crew, Schneider explained: “It’s just like a – you know when you get sick of a certain kind of coffee and you go ‘I can’t have that again’ and then you miss it.”
“Tastes really good, and then you wanna throw up after a while.”
“That’s what I feel about people yelling ‘you can do it’.”
The actor was also asked if he’ll be making an appearance in Sandler’s much-anticipated sequel, Happy Gilmore 2.
Since the first movie came out all the way back in 1996, fans weren’t really expecting a follow-up to be made.
While we’re still waiting on an official release date, there are hints about which actors might be joining the cast.
It looks like Julie Bowen and Christopher McDonald will return to their roles, and rumors suggest appearances by Margaret Qualley, Bad Bunny, and even Travis Kelce.
This news comes as a surprise to Modern Family fans, who only recently realized that Bowen was in the original movie.
In a chat with ET this month, Bowen, known as Claire Dunphy on the popular show, mentioned that her character Virginia Venit would be ‘de-aged’ for the new film.
“We do a 25-year span,” Bowen shared. “I get de-aged, which I’m very excited about.”
“I’ve never been de-aged. There’s so little I can say.”
“The cast list is coded. It’ll say ‘busboy,’ and then you get there and you go, ‘You’re not a busboy, you’re like a giant huge star’ – that I can’t say. It’s like that every single day.”
Talking about Sandler, she added: “He’s still funny as hell. He finally grew into those big shorts. They suit him now. He’s like a dad in his big ol’ dad shorts. I love it.”
