Sylvester Stallone’s daughter has revealed the ‘brutal’ thing her dad did to her high school boyfriend when they met for the very first time.
As most of us know, Stallone shot to fame with the 1976 classic Rocky. Even if you haven’t seen the movie, you’re probably familiar with its iconic training montage music.
His film didn’t just make him a star; it also introduced the concept of the sports training montage, something that has stuck around in movies for almost 50 years now.
Stallone went on to appear in countless sequels, along with other big titles like First Blood and Paradise Alley, solidifying his name in Hollywood history.
From his many tough roles, one thing about Stallone seems clear – he’s not someone you want to mess with.
This message was probably felt by most of the boyfriends that his three daughters have introduced to him over the years.
Sophia, 28, Sistine, 26, and Scarlet, 22, likely all faced some interesting challenges when it came to bringing a date home, but it’s Sophia who has shared one of the funniest stories from her past dating life.
Sophia and Sistine recently sat down for a chat with Lauryn and Michael, hosts of The Skinny Confidential Him & Her Show, in an episode titled ‘Sophia & Sistine Stallone On Their Famous Family, Dating Apps Ruining Love & Growing Up In LA!’
When asked if it felt intimidating to have a potential father-in-law who is basically Rocky Balboa, the sisters both agreed, saying, ‘it’s a lot of pressure’.
Sistine recalled: “Our favourite story is Sophia’s first boyfriend from high school, (when he) came over to meet the family for the first time and he went up to shake his hand and my dad grabbed his hand, pulled him in, and said ‘next time, shake my hand like a man.”
Everyone in the room felt that chill.
It’s easy to imagine anyone feeling a bit nervous, and co-host Michael even reacted with, ‘oh jeez’ as he listened to the story.
Sophia recalled: “I wanted to kill him, cause I’m the oldest, it was awful!”
“From then on out, every single day, he would grab my dad’s hand, he would grab my hand just to practice,” she added.
Sophia clarified that she and this boyfriend are no longer together, as Michael noted that any guy meeting their famous dad would basically be going through a ‘trial by fire’ to prove themselves.
Co-host Lauryn then asked about their younger sister’s boyfriend and why their dad seems to like him so much. They explained that it really comes down to the guy’s confidence and intelligence.
